Test Team Manager

Job Description

The purpose of this role will be to oversee a team of test analysts to organise and prioritise their workloads as they engage with the Developers and Business Analysts to plan, document and execute robust testing in order to enhance the delivery of online and back office applications to meet strategic business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

– Test resource planning;
– Effective reporting which is timely and concise;
– Meeting project deadlines;
– Management and conduct of personnel within the team;
– Co-ordination of testing activities and the effective management of the test networks;
– Manage and develop an effective framework for the testing of applications;
– Motivation and development of staff.

Skills and Experience Required:
– A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a testing role;
– Knowledge of the Financial Services data;
– Basic Line Manager experience;
– Perform effective and comprehensive testing of software;
– Experience in planning, coordination, and control of various test activities;
– Have a comprehensive understanding of the project lifecycle with particular emphasis on testing activities;
– Experienced in the specification, design and production of testing documentation;
– Understand the importance of logging, analysing and reporting bugs/incidents;
– Interact easily with users, developers and managers;
– Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, to a wide range of audiences;
– Business Analyst skills would be beneficial;
Competent in Microsoft applications: Including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
– Knowledge of SharePoint

Experience of one or more of the following, whilst not essential, would be an advantage:
– Automated Test Tools;
– ISEB certificate in software testing;
– Migration projects;
– Working with 3rd party providers;
– SQL knowledge
