Job Description

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the purchasing of goods and services required for the groups portfolio of managed vessels.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
– Leading the purchasing team
– Coordinating the timely purchase and delivery of goods, provisions, and services
– Coordinating preparation and submission of quotations as required by Clients, Technical Superintendents and/or vessels and produce evaluations of submitted tenders
– Negotiating contracts for the supply of products and services for the vessels where appropriate
– Monitoring price and delivery information
– Updating the purchasing system
– Maintaining records of acceptable suppliers
– Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and vessels as appropriate
– Maintaining the purchasing department manual

Skills and Experience Required:
– Purchasing experience is required
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Confident in Microsoft Office
– Detail orientated
– The ability to work individually and within a team
– Ability to work under pressure
– Shipping knowledge would be beneficial
– Available to travel as and when required
